Our Managing Director has been offering advice since the 1980s. We are proud to advise different generations of the same family. We offer a professional, yet friendly, service and pride ourselves in using plain English. We’re not afraid to say no and the answer may not always be a single solution.While we fully embrace technology, we believe that modern thinking supported by old fashioned service always works best for clients.

We act for businesses as well as individuals and offer solutions tailored to a client’s specific requirements. In our business, one size definitely does not fit all. We don’t advertise and find that our business continues to grow as a result of referrals from satisfied clients and professional connections.

Meet our Team

Terry Weston   DipPFS
Managing Director

Terry has been in the financial services sector all his working life & founded his original IFA practice in 1988. He invariably spends more time nowadays managing the business but still relishes his client focused work. When not spinning his various business plates he channels his attention between looking after his dogs & watching his beloved Liverpool FC.

Graham Peters   DipPFS
Director

Graham has worked with the Managing Director, Terry Weston, on and off since 2000 and is a general practitioner advising clients in all areas of financial planning. The nature of much of the firm’s work has resulted in Graham being the firm’s expert in self-invested pensions particularly those involving commercial property transactions. Graham works with a wide network of personal and corporate clients introduced via professional connections and personal recommendations.

Jeremy Over   DipFA
Director of Later Life Services

Jeremy has assisted clients in all areas of financial planning over the last 11 years. In addition Jeremy has built up considerable experience in advising elderly clients, their families, Attorneys and Deputies on how to fund care fees and other related matters such as Estate preservation and inheritance tax planning. Jeremy’s expertise has seen him become a fully qualified Later Life Adviser and an accredited member of SOLLA – The Society of Later Life Advisers. In his spare time, Jeremy is most likely to be found in the great outdoors with his nature-obsessed children and wife.

Darius Jalali   DipPFS
Director of Pension & Investment Strategies

After graduating from university in Manchester, Darius started his career within the financial services industry. He then joined Spectrum in 2015 as an Independent Financial Adviser. Since then he has been promoted to Director of Pension & Investment Strategies. Darius also heads up Spectrum’s dedicated pension advice arm; Easy Financial Planning. Which, under his leadership, has grown exponentially since the business was acquired in 2015. Outside of work, Darius enjoys spending time with his family. He enjoys watching football and follows Manchester United. He was also a keen rugby player and boxer.

Geoff Fillery   DipFA
Director of Auto-Enrolment Consultants

Geoff has worked within the financial services for over 25 years; the last 17 years as a Financial Adviser. In that time he has always worked locally and therefore has an established private and corporate client bank as well as a wide network of professional connections. Having always been involved in group pensions he heads up and continues to run our group pension and auto enrolment section. Geoff is a past President of Eastbourne Round Table and currently Chairman of Eastbourne 41 Club (where you go once you are too old for Table!). As a result he has been involved with many fundraising events for good causes. At present he leads the ‘Tree Fellas’ fundraising team. He enjoys walking and cycling with his partner and children.

Steve Opie  
Director of Finance

Steve has been involved within the Financial Services Industry for over 40 years. Hailing from deep within the Welsh Valleys, he moved to Sussex in 1985. Using his now vast experience and expertise to help clients get the best deal to suit their individual needs. Steve is our finance expert, dealing with most forms of loans from mortgages to bridging loans, and commercial finance to buy to let portfolios. Steve’s wealth of knowledge brings clients back to him time after time, as they know they will get a straightforward solution to their financial needs. When Steve is not helping clients buy their dream homes, he loves travelling to far flung and exotic places with his lovely wife.

Paul Leach  
Finance Consultant

Paul joined the financial services industry in 1987 after a successful career in the army and then working in the offshore oil and gas industry. In 1994 he became an Independent Financial Adviser and has remained in the independent sector ever since. He mainly specialises in the Equity Release/Lifetime Mortgage sector. Paul can still be found running along Eastbourne seafront most mornings.

Sarah Kilpatrick  
Head of Operations

Sarah started working within the financial services industry in 2014, since moving to this sector she has discovered this is where her passion lies. She heads a large team and works closely alongside the Managing Director & Directors of the firm. When she’s not working Sarah enjoys kickboxing, relaxing with her two cats, spending time with her friends and visiting her family back in London where she used to reside.

Bisi Bashorun  
Team Leader

Bisi is originally from London where she studied Business & Economics and proceeded to work in the insurance industry as a Marketing Executive. Now, as an Administrator, she finds herself in her element and enjoys working in a fast paced environment. In her free time, Bisi loves to socialise with her friends and family. She also has a keen interest in beauty and holistic therapies.

Lisa Paston  
Financial Controller

Lisa first joined Spectrum in 2013, providing support to the automatic enrolment division. During the growth of the division over the last few years, her role changed from supporting, to now managing the automatic enrolment support team as and when required. With her time freed up more and her keen interest in numbers, the opportunity arose for Lisa to take on and grow the role of Financial Controller for the business. In her free time, Lisa enjoys spending time with friends and family, a spot of shopping and keeping her tan topped up as often as possible.

Holly Miles  
Adminstrator

Holly started working for Spectrum in early 2017 and thoroughly enjoys getting stuck into her role as an Administrator. Prior to this role she travelled all over the world; this abundance of travel has given her great appreciation of cultures and walks of life. In her spare time she enjoys socialising, dining out and exploring new places.

Alisa Winters  
Receptionist/Auto-Enrolment Administrator

Alisa has been with Spectrum since 2016 and previously worked in the legal field. She is our Receptionist and front of house, since then she has been promoted to the scheme administrator for Auto-Enrolment. Outside of the office Alisa enjoys music, cooking and her two Siamese cats. She can often be found on a Saturday night dancing round the kitchen with a glass or two of wine.

Ash Weston  
Head of Sales

Ash has worked in the financial sector since 2009, starting on the ladder as a call centre agent for Hastings Direct. He joined Spectrum in September 2016 to help with the sales and marketing of the firm. Ash brings with him a wealth of experience in both sales and relationship management and is always available to answer any questions as a first point of contact.

Mark Taylor  
Pension Transfer Specialist

Mark joined the financial services industry in 1987 working for the Prudential. He became an IFA in 1992 and has worked in this role ever since. For the past 14 years he has worked as a Pension Transfer Specialist. He enjoys the great outdoors, participating in triathlon, open water swimming, mountain walking and have been active as an adult leader in Scouting and Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme for many years.

John Blackburn  
Pension Technical Specialist

John began working in the financial services industry in 2004 as a life and pensions calculations specialist. In 2010, he left in order to begin his degree at the University of Manchester. He joined the Easy team in July 2016 and now acts as the Group Technical Director. When not working John is a big sports fan, both playing and watching, much to the annoyance of his wife to be. He wastes many a Saturday either golfing or at the Etihad Stadium watching Manchester City…“the only football team from Manchester”.

Anna Wojcinska  
Team Leader

Anna originates from Poland where she achieved a Master’s degree in Economics. She then started working with Easy Financial Planning in October 2013 as an Administrator. Since then she has progressed to Team Leader. Anna spends her free time with her partner Nick and her cats. She also has a keen passion for gardening.

Emily Shorter  
Paraplanner

Emily started working with Easy Financial Planning in December 2014 as a Case Manager. Since then she has worked up to become a Technical Assistant/ Para planner helping with report writing and supporting the case managers with queries and technical support. Emily enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends.

Ashley Conroy-Hargrave  
Trainee Paraplanner

Ashley joined Easy Financial Planning in May 2017, she has proven to be a fast learner and has become an integral part of the team. She enjoys the problem solving nature of the job and learning about new aspects for the financial sector. In her spare time she enjoys seeing friends, walking her dog, travelling and horse riding.

Lesley Morton  
Case Manager

Lesley started working with Easy Financial Planning in February 2017 as a Case Manager. She spends her free time with her family and friends and enjoys going to concerts and conventions.

Laura Murfet  
Case Manager

Laura has always worked within the finance industry and joined Easy Financial Planning as a Case Manager in 2017. In her spare time she enjoys seeing her friends, family and finding her next holiday destination.

Victoria Aitchison  
Case Manager

Victoria graduated with a degree in Journalism in 2012, she then moved back to Hastings from London. Victoria joined Easy Financial Planning in 2017 as a Case Manager. In her spare time she enjoys being active and spending time with her family and friends.
